Castel Sant'Angelo

Photographed & edited by Riccardo Vincenzi. Artist's recommendation: 28" x 40" (70cm x 100cm) printed on aluminum.

The Castle of the Holy Angel, also known as the Mausoleum of Hadrian and as Castel Sant'Angelo locally, was commissioned by Roman Emperor Hadrian as a resting place for himself and his family's ashes. It is one of Rome's most famous local monuments and is breathtaking in its splendor. Its location on the Tiber River in front of Sant'Angelo's Bridge near the Vatican makes for a breathtaking vista.
