If Rome is the capital of the world, St. Peter's Square is its host. For the many tourists, who come to visit the city in any season, the square has always been in first place amongst the destinations to be visited, and it is not difficult to understand why. Besides the strictly religious motivation - there is only one Pope and he lives in Rome - the beauty of St. Peter's Square is indisputable.

Designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, its circular architecture leaves anyone who passes it astonished, as if being astonished were the only possible reaction, in the face of such great magnificence. Not to mention the Dome! The famous dome was designed by Michelangelo, the most famous “er cupolone” in the world has mastered the skyline of the Roman panorama for centuries, surprising each time with its majesty.

Right here, where Nero's heart cannot be found among the cobblestones, the Pope appears on Sunday for the blessing and proudly stands on one of the thirteen obelisks of Rome.
