Known as Castel Sant'Angelo in Italyas well as Mausoleum of Hadrian, the castle is the final resting place of Emperor Hadrian. In this photo, we can also see the Vatican and St. Peter's Square in full.

If Rome is the capital of the world, St. Peter's Square is its host. For the many tourists, who come to visit the city in any season, the square has always been in first place amongst the destinations to be visited, and it is not difficult to understand why. Besides the strictly religious motivation - there is only one Pope and he lives in Rome - the beauty of St. Peter's Square is indisputable.

Designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the Vatican's circular architecture leaves anyone who passes it astonished, as if being astonished were the only possible reaction, in the face of such great magnificence. Not to mention the Dome! The famous dome was designed by Michelangelo, the most famous “er cupolone” (dome) in the world has mastered the skyline of the Roman panorama for centuries, surprising each time with its majesty.

But were you aware of the illusions of St. Peter's Square designed so that the square could appear even more suggestive, in the eyes of its observers? Right here, where Nero's heart cannot be found among the cobblestones, the pope appears on Sunday for the blessing and proudly stands on one of the thirteen obelisks of Rome.
